Eligible institutions that meet the following criteria are required prior to membership consideration into CARES:
- Membership in good standing with ICUT
- At least 70% of eligible employees (covered subscribers) participating in an existing employer sponsored health plan
- Underwriting of each eligible school requires approval by CARES Board of Directors
CARES will evaluate each institution independently so that we maintain the underwriting integrity of the current enrollment. To avoid schools opting in and out of the consortium each year, member institutions have made a multi-year commitment to our service providers that provides greater predictability and integrity of underwriting. CARES reserves the right to decline to quote eligible submissions for any reason and coverage is not guarantee issue.
